Summary
As an AI Strategy Program Manager at Hummingbird, you will guide the establishment, design and implementation of an AI strategy and governance framework, driving organizational transformation through the effective, ethical, and secure use of AI tools and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. You will serve as a trusted advisor, offering expertise to evaluate solutions and develop processes across the organization that leverage AI to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and team empowerment.Responsibilities

FLSA Status: Exempt
Compensation: Starting at $143,000+ per year based on experience, less statutory deductions
Work Location: This position is remote. You must work from a location within the United States with consistent internet service.
Travel: 2-3 times/year for company events.

AI Strategy
Develop and oversee a detailed AI strategy that identifies organizational needs and aligns AI initiatives with strategic goals.
Define clear objectives, guidelines, and implementation roadmaps for AI adoption.
Drive executive alignment and stakeholder buy-in and regularly adapt the strategy to reflect advancements in AI technology and market dynamics.
Establish benchmarks for how AI tools enhance job efficiency, quality, and employee engagement.
AI Governance
Design and implement a comprehensive governance framework for AI implementation, addressing ethical, legal, and security considerations.
Establish policies and processes to define appropriate and inappropriate uses of AI tools.
Implement and lead oversight and auditing mechanisms to ensure compliance with governance policies.
Collaborate with legal, compliance, and IT teams to safeguard data integrity and organizational reputation.
AI Education
Provide clear guidance on AI governance policies and best practices for tool usage.
Empower employees at all levels with skills and knowledge to integrate AI into their work effectively.
Lead the development of advanced training programs to educate employees about AI technologies, company policies, and practical applications.
Regularly update educational content to reflect advancements in AI and internal use cases.
Drive organizational change management efforts to integrate AI seamlessly into workflows.
AI Use Cases
Partner with senior leaders and cross-functional owners to identify, prioritize, and deliver high-value AI use cases that address complex business challenges.
Develop and present data-driven business cases for AI investments to leadership.
Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of MVP AI solutions to validate concepts.
Measure the impact of AI use cases on operational efficiency and employee effectiveness, ensuring solutions enhance overall job quality.
AI Technology Research & Vendor Evaluation
Serve as an AI thought leader, staying informed about emerging AI technologies, tools, and methodologies.
Evaluate vendors and technology solutions, focusing on those that enhance employee productivity and organizational outcomes.
Perform competitive assessments of potential partners to identify the best-fit technologies.
Recommend solutions that align with organizational values and meet diverse business needs.
Team Leadership (If a Team Lead)
Provide guidance and mentorship to a small team of individual contributors, offering regular feedback on performance, strengths, and areas for improvement.
Conduct regular 1-1 meetings with team members, offering guidance and support to help them overcome challenges and achieve their objectives.
Collaborate with department leadership to set performance objectives and development plans for team members and conduct performance reviews.
Lead by example in demonstrating high performance standards and expectations.
Required & Desired Skills
Required Skills and Experience
8+ years of experience in technology program management, strategy and/or leadership roles, to include 2+ years in AI strategy, AI implementation, or innovation-focused roles.
Proven track record of developing and executing strategies that enhance both operational outcomes and workforce engagement.
In-depth knowledge of AI tools, governance frameworks, and implementation strategies, including ethical and legal considerations.
Strong analytical skills for evaluating technology solutions and creating business cases supported by data.
Superior collaboration and communication skills to engage cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Exceptional ability to work independently, exercise extensive judgment, and deliver results with high levels of autonomy.
Strong mentoring skills, with experience guiding and developing less-experienced team members.
Desired Skills and Experience
Expertise in creating governance frameworks and policies for emerging technologies.
Expertise in designing training programs to upskill employees in technical tools and methodologies.
Familiarity with data privacy regulations, security protocols, and ethical AI principles.
Demonstrated ability to assess technology vendors with a focus on user-centric design and long-term organizational impact.
