Job Description

Summary:  Client Experience knowledge of the system development life cycle. They will plan, direct, and coordinate internal and external projects to ensure that project goals are accomplished within prescribed time frames and requirements are met on schedule, within budget and successfully completed. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for defining project objectives/goals, determine the scope of each project/project charter, coordinate with key personnel for both business and functional requirements, technical analysis, design, documentation of solutions, drive technical problem resolution, develop and coordinate the project plan by identifying project deliverables, milestones, scheduling of tasks and work, and risk identification for large client projects and internal initiatives.

  • Uses planning and analytical skills in support of requirement gathering, writing functional specifications, and test plan development activities and will help ensure solution design meets standard business considerations and approval.

  • Works with client and internal project team stakeholders to determine staffing requirements and allotment of available resources to each project phase, gather and document project requirements, and communicate with the project team to outline work plan, assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.

  • Ensures that all responsibilities are clearly communicated, from requirement gathering to test planning and execution to ensure a solid quality assurance plan.

  • As an integral team member, this individual will facilitate regular project status meetings to assess progress versus milestones, identify areas of potential concern in adequate time to mitigate risk, track projects and issues closely, foster collaboration from both the business and technology group, lead issue resolution meetings during projects, and manage risks throughout the project by identifying, communicating, tracking and mitigating.

  • Manage and monitor project status by establishing a regular meeting schedule with project teams, direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure project progress is on schedule and outstanding items or issues are successfully resolved.

  • Create and communicate formal status reports for management, clients and the project team and all stakeholder, provide ad-hoc updates as required and keep clients and others informed of project status and related issues. 

  • This individual will participate in reviewing, monitoring, and gaining appropriate approvals for project documentation throughout the project lifecycle including: vision and scope, business and technical specifications,  and objectives of the project while ensuring completeness of all project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Assumes responsibility for project delivery by ensuring all components of the project are successfully completed, ensure the project team has identified downstream impacts to the client configuration, create/execute deployment plans, and manage and monitor issues generated by projects after “go-live” while in rollout and maintenance period.

  • Identify training needs for Business users, the Contact Center, Operations Personnel, as well as the client. 

  • Responsible for achieving service commitments, including sustainable, measurable, accurate, reliable, and timely execution of service deliverables.

  • Serves as a key interdepartmental liaison to support open communication & collaboration between client teams, client shared services teams, and enterprise support staff.

  • Champions service excellence and builds internal partnerships that optimize service capabilities for our customers.

  • Partners with other MedImpact business units to effectively resolve customer issues and inquiries.

  • Implements new business and designs solutions that meet the mutual needs of MedImpact and its customers.

  • Supports new product offerings and strategic marketing efforts.

  • Actively participates as a key member of cross functional workgroups, teams, and committees as assigned.

  • Seeks out and actively participates in business initiatives that contribute to service excellence.

  • Utilizes planning, prioritizing, and organizational skills to effectively manage the assets, tools, and processes necessary to achieve business objectives.

  • Provides recommendations for the acquisition/development or enhancement of equipment and systems necessary to support the business in an efficient and quality manner.

  • Cultivates positive relationships with MedImpact customers through direct interaction and by achieving positive customer satisfaction results.

  • Promptly responds to service failures, resolves issues, and escalates concerns as appropriate.

  • Maintains awareness of information technology trends that may influence the company’s systems and business operations. Serves as client team technology and business systems subject matter expert (SME).

  • Delivers exceptional service to assigned external and internal clients.

  • Promotes open communication, prompt response to inquiries & requests, flexible processes and technical solutions as well as timely accurate results that meet customer specifications.

  • Promotes the overall vision and strategies of the enterprise within the team.

Client Responsibilities

This is an internal and external client facing position that requires excellent technical consultative skills and interpersonal communication skills (listening/verbal/written). One must be able to: manage difficult or emotional client situations; Respond promptly to client needs; Solicit client feedback to improve service; Respond to requests for service and assistance from clients; Meet commitments to clients.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent and four (4) years customer support or related project management experience in a healthcare or Pharmacy Benefits Management (PBM) environment, with a minimum of (2) years Project Management or Project Coordination experience, preferably in (PBM) environment or managed healthcare services organizations, insurance companies, and other health related entities; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Prior experience in PBM, pharmaceutical or managed health care industry is a plus. PMP certification preferred.

Computer Skills

Strong proficiency with MS Office / Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio and Outlook to create complex technical diagrams, business and functional requirements documents.  Expert technical user of multiple software applications/processing systems.  Expert working knowledge of key business application and tools such as SmartSheet, MS Project, MedOptimize, MedAccess, Visio, and knowledgeable of Oracle databases.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Project Management certification preferred.

Other Skills and Abilities:

Candidates must have good negotiation skills, well-developed facilitation and collaboration skills, be a proven leader and team player, and have strong client management skills as well as the ability to work in a matrix management organization.
