Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced IT Project Manager / Scrum Master with a strong background in the healthcare domain to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership skills, a deep understanding of agile methodologies, and a passion for improving healthcare through technology. You will be responsible for managing complex IT projects, facilitating Scrum practices, and ensuring the successful delivery of innovative healthcare solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management:

    • Lead and manage IT projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they meet scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards.
    • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets in collaboration with stakeholders.
    • Monitor project progress and performance, adjusting plans as necessary to achieve project objectives.
    • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues proactively.
    • Ensure all projects comply with healthcare regulations and data privacy standards (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH).
  • Scrum Master Duties:

    • Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
    • Coach and mentor the development team in self-organization and cross-functionality.
    • Remove impediments and shield the team from external distractions to maintain focus.
    • Promote continuous improvement and help the team become more productive over time.
  • Stakeholder Communication:

    • Serve as the primary liaison between project teams, management, and stakeholders.
    • Communicate project status, milestones, deliverables, risks, and issues to all parties involved.
    • Gather and document stakeholder requirements to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Team Collaboration:

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, analysts, testers, and healthcare professionals.
    • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment that encourages innovation and teamwork.
    • Support the Product Owner in managing the product backlog and prioritizing user stories.
  • Process Improvement:

    • Implement best practices in project management and agile methodologies.
    • Evaluate and recommend tools and technologies to enhance project execution.
    • Lead initiatives to improve processes and increase efficiency within the team and organization.

Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, Business Management, or a related field.
    • A Master's degree or MBA is a plus.
  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT project management within the healthcare industry.
    • At least 3 years serving as a Scrum Master or in a similar agile leadership role.
    • Proven track record of delivering complex IT projects on time and within budget.
  • Certifications:

    • Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or equivalent Agile certification.
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly desirable.
    • Certifications related to healthcare IT (e.g., Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems – CPHIMS) are a plus.
  • Technical Skills:

    • Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban).
    • Proficient in project management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Trello, or Microsoft Project.
    • Familiarity with healthcare IT systems, Electronic Health Records (EHR), Health Information Exchanges (HIE), and interoperability standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR).
  • Knowledge:

    • In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations, compliance standards, and data privacy laws (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH).
    • Understanding of clinical workflows and healthcare provider environments.
  • Soft Skills:

    • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong problem-solving abilities and a results-oriented mindset.
    • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple stakeholders.
    • Adaptability to changing project requirements and priorities.
    • High level of organization and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud technologies and healthcare data analytics.
  • Knowledge of Lean methodologies and process improvement techniques.
  • Experience in mentoring and training team members in agile practices.
