Develop Health is on a mission to use AI to radically accelerate access to life-saving medications. By automating complex, manual healthcare processes—like benefit verification and prior authorization—we’ve grown from $0 to >$10M in annual recurring revenue in less than 2 years, and currently help more than 200,000 new patients every month.
We’re partnering with some of the largest pharmacy benefit managers and payers in the nation, revolutionizing how healthcare interactions occur by eliminating human delays and inefficiencies. Our small, elite team of founders and engineers have previously launched and exited successful healthcare startups including Rupa Health and Canvas Medical. We are now scaling rapidly following a major funding round.
About The Role:
We're hiring our first Product Manager to own product strategy and discovery across our AI-powered medication access platform. You'll be the voice of our users—MDs and medical assistants working on patient access—translating deep customer insights into product direction that empowers our engineering team to move fast.
Reporting directly to the CTO and working on-site in our Menlo Park office at least three days per week, you'll balance deep customer research with hands-on prototyping, vendor evaluation, and strategic initiative ownership. You'll build conviction about what needs to exist, then empower engineers with clarity and context while maintaining their autonomy and velocity.
What You'll Do – Impact In Your First 3–6 Months:
- Conduct extensive user research with clinical teams (MDs, medical assistants) to deeply understand workflows, pain points, and automation opportunities.
- Build user personas, journey maps, and insight repositories that inform product decisions across the team.
- Own and prioritize the product roadmap, balancing strategic initiatives with business priorities and engineering capacity.
- Use analytics and data to drive decisions, tracking feature adoption, workflow efficiency, and customer outcomes.
- Partner with engineers to define product requirements that empower them with clarity and context while maintaining their autonomy and velocity.
- Own special projects exploring strategic opportunities: new therapeutic areas, integration types, or AI capabilities that expand our impact.
What You'll Own – Driving Growth Beyond 12 Months:
- Drive expansion into new feature sets and use cases, informed by deep healthcare domain expertise and market analysis.
- Evolve our AI-powered workflows based on user needs and emerging AI capabilities, improving approval rates and reducing clinical burden.
- Build a product vision and roadmap that balances strategic bets with iterative improvements, keeping engineering focused on highest-impact work.
- Establish product analytics and success metrics that tie directly to customer outcomes and business growth.
- Scale our understanding of the healthcare ecosystem to identify and pursue high-leverage opportunities for automation and patient access improvement.
What You'll Bring On Day 1:
- 3–5+ years of product management experience, ideally in fast-paced startups.
- Healthcare industry knowledge with understanding of clinical workflows, payer/provider dynamics, or regulated healthcare operations.
- Strong analytical and data-driven decision making, with ability to build and interpret metrics that guide product direction.
- Understanding of how AI products are built, including prompt engineering, evaluation frameworks, and model limitations.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build conviction and alignment across teams.
- High ownership mentality with comfort in ambiguity and a bias toward action.
- Availability to work on-site in Menlo Park at least three days per week.
What You'll Need To Learn Quickly:
- The prior authorization ecosystem—how clinical workflows, payer requirements, and patient access intersect, and where automation creates the most value.
- Our AI systems, data models, and technical architecture to effectively evaluate opportunities and constraints.
- Healthcare compliance landscape (HIPAA, BAAs, security requirements) and how it shapes product and partnership decisions.
- Our customers' operations, success metrics, and how they measure the value of our platform.
- How to rapidly prototype and test concepts using tools like Lovable, Retool, or Figma to validate ideas before engineering investment.
Bonus Points:
- Technical skills like SQL, basic data analysis, or API familiarity to independently explore product usage and opportunities.
- Experience shipping AI-powered products or working with LLMs in production.
- Early-stage startup experience where you've worn multiple hats and built processes from scratch.
What We Offer:
- Competitive salary + meaningful equity in a company growing 10× year-over-year.
- Health, dental, and vision coverage; flexible PTO.
- High-end workstation & tooling budget.
- The chance to make healthcare faster, fairer, and more accessible for millions of patients.
