Job Description:

About the Role:

As the Director for Cityblock’s Growth Actuary team, you will lead the risk management, pricing, and technical analysis supporting our efforts to rapidly expand with different partners to serve distinctly different populations across multiple geographies. You will also be responsible for continuing to refine and standardize our contracting approaches across partners.

Bringing your experience to Cityblock, you will lead the expansion and refinement of our modeling and underwriting processes for new growth opportunities. In your role, you will work closely with peers and leaders from across the business, including Growth, Finance, Analytics, and New Markets & Implementations.

  • You will help develop relationships with your counterparts in our health plan partners and potential partners and work closely with them to identify populations most appropriate for the Cityblock model, and to set and price targets by which we will measure the financial performance of our care model.

  • You will work with Cityblock’s Growth team to evaluate alternate contract designs, and identify different approaches to share in partner risk and the value created for our partners.

  • You will work closely with market leadership to provide insights on market-specific opportunities and risks, and with Finance and our Valuation Actuary team to establish expectations for contract performance and support budgeting.

  • You will work with our clinical and analytics teams to bring best practices for understanding our existing members to our growth initiatives.

If you are inspired by a role where you have scope to drive impact, if you enjoy partnering with others to see the practical implementation of your work, and if you find fulfillment in helping to lead Cityblock’s mission to radically improve the health of marginalized communities at scale, we would love for you to consider joining our team.
